dancerdemonloveranswer has been a prophetic album for me, without my intending it. I wrote a song called “dancer,” titled my album dancer , and even had a photograph taken of myself dancing – all without being a dancer. (Well, all right, I studied when I was a kid, but I never kept up with it.) And now, I am studying dancing again, maybe because the idea from the CD affected me, and dance has brought a joy and revitalization of expression to my life and my art that I had not thought possible. In addition, I felt like I was living in a vacuum; like I didn't really have enough good people around me, like maybe there weren't any good people. But on this CD, unlike Labyrinth , I wrote songs about other people's experiences and asked other people to contribute to my work. And what do you know: I found myself suddenly surrounded by good people. They were there all along. I was just too busy looking inward. So dancer encompasses these messages: Listen to your heart. It knows what you really want, and will tell you, if you're listening…and…When you're complaining because something is missing in your life, make sure you have your eyes completely open – maybe it's a step you need to take. It was for me. |
